I don't know how reliable this guy is, but it appears to be hands-on at CES. The mention is halfway down the page and there's even a pic at the bottom...

Well, crap, apparently newbies aren't allowed to post links... Brilliant.

It's on a blog by some guy named Michael York. Google his name and "CES 2009 day 1 in vegas"

Wow- just as I was going to try to curb my forum addiction. I am so ready to move on from my pearl as well. I still love it, but would like a bigger screen, etc. Come on AT&T!!

I emailed BGR with this also, and they just posted it, so they seem to feel it's reliable.

No idea about the keyboard, but as long as it's coming to AT&T (hopefully soon!!!!!!!) with that pretty, new screen and wi-fi, I don't care about the keyboard.

Perhaps they're using the keyboard as a visual differentiator.

In lieu of this news on the February release date and that boring keyboard, I think I'm going to order a Rogers model now and get it unlocked. I only have until the 24th to return this Bold to Bestbuy.

The AT&T curve 8900 always had the black/white keyboard. Look at the gizmodo review.

BlackBerry Curve 8900: BlackBerry Curve 8900 First Impressions (Kills the Original)

AT&T never uses red numbers on their keypad because it "resembles" verizon's trademark look on their phones. Thats why the Bold has all white keys instead of red numbers and thats why the curve 8900 is following suit. It looks better than just having white numbers i think. Wait till you see it in person, I think it looks better, plus the circle border around the trackball is a greyish black color instead of white like its tmobile counterpart. i think it looks better

This is a good thought. I don't think that Verizon or T-Mobile have that red letter and T-Mobile white border "officially" theirs, but if they did that would keep AT&T getting sued. Also it sets AT&T apart from everyone else, just like Verizons red letters and T-Mobiles white border.

I agree, it sure does. I'm actually really surprised at how much better the red keyboard looks, maybe it is because I am just used to that but I don't think so.

Some of the pictures make the numbers on the T-Mobile version look pink... And I agree, the black/white looks terrible

ATT 8900 keyboard fails big time for real. I didn't think a change in keyboard colors could take away from the sexiness of the 8900 but this sure does.

Honestly if they keyboard looked like the lower picture on this link I would be perfectly ok with either that or the red but having basically the exact same curve keyboard (at least curve "looking") really takes away a lot of the appeal. I could always buy a replacement keyboard, but still ...
