I have a 2gb memory card in my 8900 and will be loaning it to a friend to take to Chile for use as a small video camera, the phone will not have the sim card in.

How will he be able to get the videos off and onto his computer down there ?

Plug it in and open Media Manager. Locate where the files are and he should be able to just drag and drop.

The pics will be on the card. Have him just pop out the mem card and transfer them to his comp using a card reader, which connects via USB.

You can hook up your Blackberry to your PC and use it as a USB drive. It works the exact same way.

3gp is a mobile video format, all players should work with it although if not just use VLC media player, available at http://www.videolan.org

Works with all formats and is very efficient, best of all its free.

VLC is awesome! I pretty much use that application only on my PC to view video files. You can also download a portable version from PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB drives
