No, thanks, mate. pull out chinese support from other OS is not working well in 8900.

8900jEastAsia_PBr4.6.1_rel132_PL4.2.0.59_A4.6.1.75 is the only OS support simple chinese currently which had been leaked even before 8900, I can not download it from the offical website. someone upload this OS to rapidshare but the link expired now.........lol

Have a look on berryreview.com and do a search for 8900 and then look for OSs. It's one of the places I go when I am looking for OSs.

i took the CJK files from 8900jEastAsia_PBr4.6.1_rel176_PL4.2.0.74_A4.6.1.10 9_CSL (i get this from Hong Kong CSL Ltd website to DL)
then put them in the 8900M_PBr4.6.1_rel185_PL4.2.0.76_A4.6.1.114_Telefo nica_Venezuela
and just choose only the CJK from the EastAsia and system files from the .114

    Hi dcwc,

I want to do exactly what you did. Can you describe the steps in more detail?

I am new to Blackberry so don't know what to do.

    Many thanks.

    dcwc,

I've search the web and found the following steps. However, I am not sure it works. Some other posts require more involved editing and copying of files. Would you take a look at it? If it's too far from the right path, please post yours.

    Thanks.

    ================================================== ======
    (1) Make sure you have a current Blackberry Desktop (4.6 multilanguage version, Not sure 4.7 is needed. It has problem synching with Outlook so if it's not needed, don't upgrade yet.)

    (2) Delete Vendor.xml from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

    (3) Go to Blackberry Device Software section of the Blackberry website and select Asia Pacific - Hong Kong CSL

    (4) Select Blackberry Curve 8900 for the Curve and download it

    (5) Install the downloaded Device Software. Installing it means that you are just copying it to your C drive. Do not actually put it on you blackberry.

    (6) Connect your blackberry to your pc

    (7) Go to your Apploader (in the Apploader Directory) and "add" a file in your downloaded OS directory (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\then your Dowloaded OS) this file is CJK.alx.

    (8) Load this file from the directory

    (16) Check the Font check boxes and follow the installation process. THE UPGRADE PROCESS TAKES A LONG TIME. IT MAY APPEAR FROZEN BUT DO NOT DISCONNECT YOUR PHONE UNTIL IT HAS COMPLETELY REBOOTED AND THE DESKTOP SOFTWARE TELLS YOU IT HAS FINISHED!

    (17) On your Blackberry, go to Options -> Language -> Input Language to change from English or Chinese or you could use alt-[Enter] to change on-the-fly.

    glorygunners,

Do you want people to upload the Telefonica Venezuela file? Wouldn't it be in Spanish? Is there an English version?

I am thinking that with T-Mobile, the Blackberry OS on the device is already 4.6.1.114. Should it already be on the PC when you backup the OS to the PC?

What steps did you take to get to the "No additional applications designed for your device was found"?

the Telefonica Venezuela is multilanguage, therefore english is still there...

mine is not T-mobile, therefore mine is not 4.6.1.114...

I already had the the Telefonica Venezuela installed, and I used the apploader to select the east-asian language support, and that is the message that pops up.... so anyone can help?

is there an east-asian 4.6.1.114 software upgrade available now?

I am currently running on the 4.6.1.109 version from CSL

    Thanks

    sorry for slow reply

when u finish download the .114 from whereever and the .109 from CSL, install both, remove Vendor.xml and all the other extra stuff for both OS, i use the CrackMem to do so

    then you go to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\
this directory may be different for some people, depend ur Windows OS

there will have two folders one for the .114 and one for the .109
copy the CJK.alx from the .109 to the .114 folder
then also go into the .109\Java\ and copy all
    paste into .114\Java\
BUT DO NOT OVERWRITE, that way only the extra file (support the asian languages and stuff will copy over and main files will remain as .114 version)

    then go to the
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\
and run the Loader.exe, click next or yes or what it say until you get to place where u can select the stuff to install, there u can select the asian languages so just choose from that list all the apps u want and then let it update, and once reboot it work good

i am use DM 4.7 but i use Loader.exe to do the update process

    hope this helps

also there is no east asian newer than .109 at the moments, maybe will have when .133 come out of beta?
