I know there's a post or two on wiping the device. However, is there a way to completely erase? I used JL_Cdmr, yet my phone retained my device password. Am I missing something?

Set a password on your device, lock it, enter it in more than 10 times incorrectly, let the fireworks begin, enjoy!

I have an interesting story about using the wrong Pass Word 10 times. I tried it on Tuesday before sending a defective phone back and it didn't work! It kept warning me it was going to wipe but didn't. After 15 times I gave up and went to options-security and did it that way. The only thing I can think of is that I didn't have my Sim card in. Don't count on getting extra attempts, lol, but I would like someone who wants to wipe their device to try it without the sim card in to recreate what happened to me - unless it is just the seventies coming back to haunt me and I was halucinating, then never mind,
