My 8900 won't see a couple of music files. It shows them in the explore mode on my media card but it doesn't find/show them when the music/artists listing comes up.

I've done several battery pulls and have added more music thinking that it might catch it in the next update. I've even gone so far as to re-copy the files to the media card. I checked the properties status and they are not hidden files, even on the BB itself.

    What next?

Sounds like they are just an incompatible music file. I'd erase the files and download new ones.

Update: The files that the 8900 won't recognize are MP4 files. Everything else that plays and shows up in my music directory is MP3. Do I need to convert the files from MP4 to MP3?

A little recon on the internet shows that MP4 is/can be audio and video. Maybe the 8900 can't play them. I can't get them to come up with the video player so may be I will have to convert them.

I had a similar problem with music files not indexing. OS update from .114 to .250 fixed it. Yours may be a different issue because all of mine were mp3, but thought I would throw it out there that it seems to be an OS glitch for a number of people.

Thanks, I'll look into the upgrade. Will I lose any data?

Read the .250 thread at the top of the page for details. You won't lose data on your mem card.
