If you don't care about the camera does it pay to upgrade. The keyboard on the 8900 seems cramped and harder to type on. Neither have 3G. Internet is same on wifi. 8900 has faster processor which based on the flip I would say is needed with the new software but the 8320 seems to move along just fine. 8900 has a sleeker form but not night and day better. The screen resolution is better on the 8900 but that will probably eat into the battery time as compared to the 8320 which has great battery time.

Is the 8900 a smart move or just the latest greatest?

dun forget better screen resolution, faster cpu, a lot more ram, edge speed is faster (?), with firmware 113, i see battery life is comparable to my old 8320

U really need to ask? It doesn't come any near the javelin. Performance, style, look, build quality..

I've tried all the recent blackberrys from about 2005, and i must say I'm quite impressed with the 8900, i was hooked to the bold, but i love the feel of the 8900.

My thing is that the new must be a HUGE improvement on the old. While I think the 8900 is probably the best BB out there currently, it was not enough of an improvement for me to make the jump.

I have tried the Storm and I thought it was a disappointment. Large and bulky. Heavy and hard to carry. Difficult to type on and often slow. Others have posted problem of dirt and lint getting under the screen. Also the battery time is not anywhere near the 8320.

The Bold seems great although it is larger than the 8320 and the case it comes with makes it ackward to carry espcially getting in and out of a car.

I am just saying, sometimes newer is just an exciting new toy but not always better.

    I agree.

I had an opportunity to test the Storm early on. RIM acknowledged so many errors. At the stime, we did not believe they would release the Storm anytime soon.

    They did.

    Gotta love Black Friday...

I agree with this, a little. After seeing and using the 8900, I don't see myself running out to get it when it first comes out. Simply because my 8320 is just as capable. This is not to say I won't get it, I just won't get it as soon as I previously planned. I really like the combination of Wifi and GPS and faster processor. The bonus is screen resolution and better camera. For the amount of money it will be when it first comes out, it just isn't worth it and my apps on my 8320 addresses some of the features missing. Why get it at all, simple, I just like it.
