    Hi,
I have a Blackberry Curve 8520, and I eventually upgraded to the new OS. I really hated it, so looked online for a guide on how to downgrade to OS 4.6.1.
    I've been following this guide:
    http://crackberry.com/how-downgrade-...erating-system
and I'm absolutely stumped. I've got as far as using JL Cmdr to wipe my Blackberry completely - up to this point, everything has worked fine. I tried to use the Desktop Manager to follow the next instructions, but at the end of the process I received a 'fatal error' message. After multiple tries, the Desktop Manager will no longer recognise my blackberry at all.
I have tried to reload my old OS on computers with XP, Vista, and Windows 7, and I can't get it to work on any of them.
I now have an entirely unusable Blackberry, and I've followed the instructions to the letter. Not only do I have to deal with this Fatal Error message, but now the fact that the Desktop Manager just completely stopped recognising the device altogether.
I'm at my wits end - any advice?
    Charlotte

    Check that link above

Basically if the desktop manager cant read the phone, i bypass that and use the application loader located in C: program files> common files>ResearchInMotion>Apploader

    hope this helps
