I'm going to be on O2 UK.
    Can I download this update?
Or is it strictly for "Rogers" customers!

You can install this update, just delete de vendor.xml file from the OS folder and use the Apploader to load the OS.
    It's all you need.

Is there some sort of walkthrough for this?
    Link to App Loader?
Downloading update now and the Update is an .Exe file, so how do I delete the "vendor.xml" file.

Execute the file you've downloaded and install. After that follow this path
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

There you'll have an xml file named vendor.xml. Delete it.
Inside that folder you have loader.exe. Run it and follow the wizard (you really don't have to do anything but click next). Leave it running the proccess and in the end you'll have the OS installed. After the reboot, go to the options->about and check the OS installed. If the version matches what you're expecting then you're done (in this case it will be 5.x.x.900).
    Enjoy.

Yes. Very true. I'm also really happy with .681. Never even tried to upgrade to .822 as I have seen lots of posts saying it has some problems. My .592 problem of trackpad freezing vanished with .681. really very good OS version.

Any major changes noticed ?? is it stable as .681 ??

    Someone please update.

    Thanks

Just looking at this for the first time. I've never installed an upgraded OS before, so I'm a touch nervous, but that looks like a good walkthrough that's been posted (Thanks! - assuming all goes well ) On the page it now says the latest version is .1626. I'm currently running .681 - I assume that won't be a problem?

ETA: OK, never mind. it was .900 and it's installed fine by the looks of it

ok. upgraded with App Loader. Very easy and smooth. Thank you guys.

How is battery life on .900 ?? berryxmas feels there is improvement.

Has anybody experience the same ?? just curious though. As it is I'm happy with 8520 battery life but sometimes there is a need for more juice.
