Almost 4-5 months after update, feels like I'm running out of juice everyday from last two weeks with same kind of everyday use... Phone is getting quite slow even after regular battery pulls...

I need to try .1036 again

Would you recommend this or a hybrid OS?

I'm new to this, I just got a curve 8530 from Boost Mobile and my OS is 5.0.0.654 and I want to update it to this newer OS but I'm scared I will mess up my phone. Should I upgrade or just keep what I have? I would appreciate some feedback. Thank you

Good thing you're scared. Should you have been bold and tried, you could have bricked your phone, for this is a 8520 and not a 8530 release (yes, pretty different).

Follow this 101 for details on how to go about updating (but do get a 8530 OS first!): http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101...ting-system-os

Yes upgrade to this or another OS5, OS4 is very old now. If you can't do it this way by getting the actual firmware and doing a manual install, then just get BlackBerry destop manager and let it automatically do it.

All be it my carrier is Virgin Mobile (UK) can I still download this and install as long as I remove the Vendor file?

Will this effect my contract (as in will I now be AT&T) or will it just pick up on Virgin again when I reboot?

Yes you can install and it will be fine, but also you can open the vendor file which shows all the networks it will run on.

But I know that it will work, I have it installed and I'm on o2 and it works fine so yours will be fine too.

    Hi guys. I'm new here and I have a BB 8520 with v5.0.0.681 (platform 5.2.0.67). I just downloaded firmware: 8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel1728_PL5.2.0.96_A5.0.0.1067_ AT_T.exe
Do you think it's worth upgrading to it, or it doesn't have any major benefits?
(until now I didn't had any problems with the phone, I'm just curios).
    Thanks.
