Hi all. I'm using a Bold 9780 and the reception is good. My wife is on the Curve 8520 and the signal is always on SOS. We are both on the same carriers, so I don't think it's a carrier problem.

I have tried upgrading the OS to the latest official AT&T 1067 OS, but the reception remains the same. Do you think it's a hardware issue?

It's just getting on our nerves...

SOS means that the sim card is not installed.

Pull it out, wipe the contacts, wait for it to dry, reinsert.

This would be the contacts on the end of the sim card and not the contacts you call. Just didn't want an issues with lost address books.

If you still have the problem after cleaning the contacts on the SIM card (the metal pins), you should contact your carrier and ask them for a new SIM card.
