I searched and came up dry, but apologies if this has been resolved already.
I recently upgraded the OS on a 8300 curve from 4.2.x.x to the newer 4.5.x.x and now the theme created on the old Plazmic isn't recognized on the new Desktop Manager 4.6. Since the new Plazmic is out, 4.7 i believe, would I be able to install that, and convert it so that the new Desktop Manager recognizes it?
Or if anyone else has a workaround, that would be great.
Sorry but you arent going to get that to work. The only way you can export it to a newer OS version you would have to have the .thm files. If you can remember where you got the theme from you could ask them for a 4.5 version.
thank you for your answer. i actually made the theme myself so i do have the .thm files. so with the actual .thm files, do you think i could run them through the new plazmic and get a 4.5 version?
i wanted to find out before i went ahead and installed that big bundle of software again.
I was on 4.6 when I tried it and I am pretty sure it worked. I wont say for sure but...... Are you on a slow connection or something? To download and install to try it should be pretty quick
Roger that, I wish ya luck. Wish I had a definitive answer but I am not into themes (making at least) so ..... When I downloaded plazmic I just got the one file and installed it, ran fine - my first theme was so bad I wouldnt even use it so I gave up and I leave it to the pros..... Let me know the outcome, if you will......
once i loaded the .thm file in the newer plazmic, it asked if i wanted to update it to the newer version! so i did and exported the new alx file and it appears to be working...
thanks for your help and guidance again!
