I tried youmail on my 883WE and thought it was pretty good but I liked the idea of the visual voice mail app that came with my Storm. I'm really interested to see how this works out as well.
looks nicer than VyMail IMO but it looks like this hasnt been ported to the Storm yet since i cant seem to get a playback function. It downloads the messages and you can import your contact list but cant get any sort of playback function at all on my STORM..sucks.
It works pretty well and is very similar to vymail.
The one think that it is missing (that vymail does have) is auto sync capabilities.
The API is supposed to be open so that others can work with it, so I hope someone comes up with something. I would really like to see a notification on the icon when I get a new voice mail, that would be very cool.
After using their basic service now for the past several months, I have been pleased overall.
I tried out the Youmail Visual Voicemail this morning. It does work as advertised. A few page layout problems but that may be my browser configuration on my Bold.
Everything does work as I was able to scroll through the messages with options available for each.
I would say it is a nice feature enhancement for youmail at the right price of course.

Do you need to use a browser to "read" your voice mail? Or, does (can) it send you an email/text?
Things aren't going well so far. The app won't stay loaded - Uncaught.exception: java.lang.NullPointerException.
Voicemail delivery to e-mail is miserably slow. I shouldn't have to wait 5 minutes in order to get my voicemails.
What email service are you using? I have a gmail account set up just for my youmail account (let's me have a separate notifier for voice mail) and I get an email a couple of seconds after a person finishes leaving a message.
Uninstalled the app, restarted, reinstalled. It worked once, now I'm getting the exception error again.
Voicemail notification is still miserably slow. I tried disabling e-mail notification and just using text. It took 8 minutes for the text message to arrive.
I have the same problem with this as I did vymail. I need an icon telling me I have a new message. Until then count me out..
At least on AT&T, it does give you the notification, but it's a little buggy - there's definitely a big delay in when you get prompted and when you delete messages. It doesn't clear the icon promptly either. It takes around 5 minutes for the icon to go away. It also makes the LED flash red when it CLEARS the notifier. Weird.
I love the idea of this service, but at least for me, the negatives far outweigh the positives so far.

With the basic or free service, you can set up email & sms alerts. The email alerts have an attached audio file that you can listen to or download. The SMS just states who called with their basic caller ID information.
There is a premium service which offers text transcription of the voicemail. I have never tried it out as I am pleased with the basic service.
The visual voicemail is viewable using the Blackberry browser.
i'm having issues getting it to work... got it downloaded, but an error pops up every time i try to check for voicemail or... whenever it feels like it... seems a little buggy...

Well, then that's a deal breaker for me... If I have to listen to the voice mail - it serves me no purpose.
I would have preferred a notification, followed by an email transcription of the voice mail, that I can read.
I already get notification of VM's... who, date & time.
The idea of NOT having to listen to the message is what would have been appealing to me. And, I am not interested in adding any more cost.
I tried it, both in new and last week versions. While the idea is a good one, I rely too much on the full integration that I get with the switch based VM.
Maybe in a later version...
