I figured out how to change the boring white background of texts/emails yesterday....mine is purple stripes. i dont think you can change the design of it, just the color. I totally forgot how to do it but if someone knows how to change it in the options....post it here!

wow....thats DUMB! i thought pretty much everyone would have that option since the background and text is so boring with texting and email..... i have OS 4.2

and what is BES?? ive heard it alot but i have no idea what it is.

it would not make sense for that to be in security options. If anything should be in display options

I can confirm that it is in security, I have it on the purple stripes myself. There are 6 colours you an choose from.

I have BIS, and 4.3 OS.

Just to prove I am not insane myself, lol, it's Security, General Settings, and scroll to the bottom.



I can say this, when I did my wipe to get rid of the IT policy from Unite, the option to change it no longer appears, but because I backed up my settings I am locked on the stripes now and can't turn it off. What changed is that in the setup wizard, BIS no longer appears under email options, and the option to change the colours is no longer there.

I still have my BIS account, still get my emails, and have the service books.

No problem! I also think it was a stupid place to put them, as opposed to screen/keyboard for instance.

I've seen it before too. I don't have it on my phone now but I think it was there when I was on a BES. You had a choice of colors too. Basically it just seperates normal messages from BES messages. I think there was blue and orange and purple and some other colors. You could change each mailbox or sms box for a different color.

That is a BES option. The Unite software did an enterprise activation, using the Unite as the BES server, although it didn't change you off of the BIS...
