If you phone doesn't support wi-fi how will you connect to wi-fi at your house or anywhere else?
Just because opera has the option, it doesn't mean that the hardware can use it.

The 8330 does support wireless and Opera Mini does not go thru' the RIM internet so provided that Verizon allow you to use the wireless in the phone, you should be good.

You gotta get a phone that have wi-fi. Verizon doesn't offer wi-fi, maybe they will offer it on the Bold 9000 when it comes available sometime in the future.
