Yup, it should be 3G. On the back of my phone (on the black part) it says QUALCOMM 3G CDMA. I'm assuming that's what tells you it's a 3G capable phone.

If you are in a 3G data area your device will have EV in your connection status.

I'm on Sprint so mine says 1XEV, when I am in a standard data area it just says 1X on it.

    Hope this helps.

The only BB device for VZW right now that sees REV A is the Storm.

The 8330 is a EVDO RevO device. EVDO is the CDMA version of the GSM HSDPA technology, which AT&T and T-Mobile (the US GSM carriers) call 3G. The Storm, which is EVDO Rev A, is more like a 3.5G. 3G basically means 3rd Generation cell technology. Verizon and Sprint simply call their 3G by the technical abbreviation instead of calling it 3G like AT&T and T-Mobile do.
