Can someone tell me how to find it/restore it? I like it front and center an was messing around with top five apps and . . . presto its been disappeared.

Seems to me it should be an easy function to hide, unhide but for the luv of pete I can't figure it out. I have a feeling I'm going to feel really "slow" when you guys explain it. lol

from the home screen you press menu>show all
then find the icon that you hid, press menu and click hide, and it will be unhidden

That'll do it. Just make sure it's still at the top if you want it in the top 5.

I don't see mine anymore either. I upgraded to 4.5. Is the compose icon the same thing? Not a big deal cause I don't use it anyway.

Compose is not the same thing. An OS upgrade could have reset your messages to combined.. check to see if that's the case.
