    try a different USB cable... when mine was messed up it did the same thing too

    When I plug another blackberry in, it works. So its not the usb cable.

    Where did you buy the BB, and do you have any idea
    how the casing got cracked? Whatever caused that may
    have damaged something internally.

    yeah, I bought it off ebay, has a bunch of teeth marks in it from a dog but the internals look fine.

    Oh well, it was pretty cheap, I can use it for parts. Unless someone else has a solution?

    I just took it apart, nothing seems to be wrong with it. Maybe it is software?

    I'm sure you know this, but simply eyeballing it won't
    tell you the extent of the damage, if any. The dog may
    drooled into the phone and that could have fried the
    circuitry. Did you know that is was used as a chew toy
    before buying it?
