AFAIK, there is no external antenna port on the 8330(m). If you are experiencing really low signal issues, you should be looking into getting an Airave network extender from Sprint.

I don't remember the pricing details exactly. As for how it works, I notice a difference as I'm driving into my driveway as far as signal strength. I now have a full signal anywhere in the house or garage, even in the basement.

Here is a CNET review of the Airave:

Sprint Airave Cell phone and smart phone accessory reviews - CNET Reviews

FYI, the Airave does not boost the EVDO data signal, just 1X voice. Some Sprint customers manage to get Sprint to wave the $99.99 price of the Airave or the $9.99 monthly charge for the Airave due to low signal issues using Sprint service. Apparently, you will get a better chance of this if you call Sprint customer service and ask for retentions.
