    My wife has filed the manual away so good, I cant find it. Where the heck does the card go in? and do I have to do anything special to format it?

    It goes behind the battery. You don't have to do anything special.

    Well the bracket should slide to the left. insert card, close and slide bracket to the right to keep card in if the battery is out.

    after you fix that, you can also try to find the pdf of the manual so that you have it on your desktop for future ref, so you don't have to hunt down where the wife may have stored it.
