Well now, this needs further explanation. Was it RIM, or your carrier that disabled your browser and why? And if you don't have BIS service, installing google maps is pointless.
I do have BIS service but not mobile browser. I have BIS email only. Apparently there is loophole in the RIM data which if you read up on the Rogers link that JeffH provided goes into more details.
Ok now see, you didn't correctly explain things... And I know about the loophole. You said RIM disabled your browser. RIM didn't do anything. You simply don't have a BB data plan. Only the email plan. There is a difference there.
^ When you don't have a full data package, RIM really do disabled your browser. The browser icon will disappear right before your eyes when the feature is taken off in the phone provider system. I've seen it happened. There are ways you can find the browser but it won't work.

You know what, this isn't worth my time trying to explain it again and again.
