Is there any way to see exactly what is stored on the sd card and what is on the device memory? I can't get the desktop application manager to run on my pc so maybe that's one way? I've downloaded a few apps and I don't remember it asking me where to download it to. Some installers I can't even find

The Desktop Manager is one way. Another way is to enable Mass Storage Mode. Then your BB shows up as a separate drive under My Computer.

Explore will let you view both device and media card memory.

Windows can only see media card memory.
