Today when I went to go look for my text messages I noticed that all but one of my sms texts has been deleted. I tried a hard reset and still nothing. And yes I am running verison 4.5 os, is this one of the few bugs that the new bata has?

No, you're probably running low on memory. Check your free memory stats & take a look at Memory Optimization.
