my Cruve says its OS is v4.5.0.77 (platform 3.2.0.51)

is that the latest OS on verizon or there are any later ones?

There are some betas and revisions for other carriers, but .77 is current for VZW

For the record, you asked about an 8830, which is not a Curve. The Curve on Verizon is an 8330. And you may want to update your profile since that says 9530--lots of different numbers there! lol

Naw I do that all teh time as well. Use to any way. would type 8830 not 8330, it is easy to do

lol sorry for the confusing guys ... actaully i am a storm user.... but am trying my hands on 8330 ..i just got this phone today and wanted to try it for a week and see if i like it better then my storm...

so i guess 8330 is currently .77 or do i have anyother choice?

yea that's the latest official release for Verizon, but I just put .131 on mine and it works fine!
