So these symbols have appeared on my BlackBerry when I make a phone call. I was wondering if you guys know what they are, and how I can shut them off?

You boosted the Treble on your phone's ear speaker.
There's a setting to boost the Bass, Treble, or have it at natural. I actually like to boost the treble on mine. Helps in noisy situations.
