I haven't used some of the apps, are there any apps that can/should be removed? I don't knopw & don't plan on using any of instant messaging apps.

Many of them that came with the phone cannot be deleted just hidden as they are pushed to the phone. Take a look here for way to clean up your bb or gain more memory (If you are interested)

I would give it a few days and then decide what needs to go if this is new.

glphoto... I made a folder & placed the things that couldn't be deleted in it. Then I clicked on the menu> hide so that the folder would go hidden for if I ever needed one I can then click on menu> show all so that I could get back to them.
