So I was using the new vlingo software software earlier today. It was working fine, and it was awesome. Now when I try it, it doesn't work for some reason. I will say something lie "call home". It will say "working" for a long time (like 30 seconds, but just standing there waiting, its a long time), then says,"Request timeout, please check your network settings" I went through all of the settings , and it still won't work. I don't understand. I don't have a data plan, and I used wifi, and it worked earlier today. Any reason why it isn't working? Is it because it is a beta?

Hmmm....I'm running 4.5.0.44 on my 8310 and vlingo seems to work just fine. I've tried a search, an email, a phone call and opening an application with no problems (other than me mumbling cuz I just woke up ). I downloaded the version that says it is for 4.3. So far, so good. We'll see.

I have it working on my 4.5. You have to go into vlingo options scroll down to the bottom to connection type and change from auto to direct. All this does is make vlingo connect to your carrier only instead of searching. Give it a try.

And then of course do a battery pull. This info is on the vlingo help option as well.

K ill try it! When I said because it is a beta, I meant that vlingo is a beta. I have 4.2.2.180, because 4.5.0.37 fried my sim card, so I had to downgrade.

Yeah, it works now, awesome. Turns out it was the direct setting, and a batt pull. That fixed it.

somehow i'm just not feeling the Blackberry changing experience that was for everyone.... still having a hard time believing that hayden over-hyped vlingo the way he did for 24 hours prior to vlingo being released.... big disappointment.

oh yeah, what it does poorly, it does do on 4.5 as well....

I just updated my 8310 to 4.5.0.46 a couple days ago and vLingo is working quite well with it. I have a little bit of a problem with time outs, when I'm at home where a good phone signal can be spotty at times. Other than that, it's fine.
