    I setup an email at the att.blackberry.com website.
    but, how do I use it on my phone? I do the email setup and input my gmail address and password, but it won't connect.

    is it something extra i need to buy from AT&T?
    how do i upgrade to the BB data plan?

    you need to have the BB data plan on your phone before you can set up an email with att. otherwise, you'll have to use the gmail app for blackberry.

    If you don't have a data plan a blackberry is a complete waste of money

    To upgrade go to ATT.com and log in there go to your acct. profile and look for the manage acct features link/icon and proceed from there
