Just got off the phone with Tmobile and was told my 2 month old 8320 will not be fixed under warranty because anything wrong with the usb port is considered physical damage,so who can give me some insight in doing it myself, basically how hard is it?

Mackless, hopefully you can get a replacement BB free of charge with Rachel's help. If it doesn't work out for you then there are a few options:

BBrepairshop.com will replace the USB port for $80, and the price includes return shipping back to you.

    BBrepairshop.com - BlackBerry Repair Services for BlackBerry Curve 8300, 8310, 8320

You can buy a charging dock for your BB, so you can still charge it. Use a card reader or buy one to move and copy files to your Media Card. You still won't be able to do OS updates, backups, and load applications though.

I have had my 8310 for about a month now. The first phone I got had a bad port after one day! The store actually tried to give me a hard time exchanging it and then one of the clerks admitted that other people were having problems. I might do some research to see if you can find others who have had problems for a little ammo before you call again.
