I just purchased a blackberry after my G1 got soaked (rip )

Anyway, i'm running OS 4.2 on it, and I desperately need to be running 4.3 or higher. Since T-Mobile doesn't officially support the 8300 i can't upgrade through them.

I'm been googling and googling, but i cannot seem to find a suitable answer.

This is my first post, (but i even searched the forum and didn't find my answer)

    Any suggestions?

i saw the sticky and it said east asia and a different carrier.

i called t-mobile today and they were very helpful. they said if you have an unlocked phone, then you need to use the update that is issued by that carrier... so in my case i have to get the updates from at&t even tho i am using t-mobile's service.

You can use any carrier's OS as long as it is for your device if you delete the vendor.xml file prior to loading it to your BB.

Follow the directions in the sticky thread in post #1 for your device.

Also, use Desktop Manager v4.5 or 4.6 for a problem free upgrade.
