hello..... i am running 4.5.131 on my sprint 8330m i wanted to upgrade to the new os .169 (cellularsouth). i know that in order to get this os onto my phone i need to remove the vendor.xml. however, it still will not let me install this os on my phone. why? do i need to wiope my phone? how do i do that? any help would be apprecaited. also, did anyone hear anything about os 5 for the 8330m. my wife has the 8330, i upgraded her os last night, went smooth... no problems, i just cant upgrade the os on mine...... thanks again.

Are you trying to do the upgrade via DM? Use the App Loader found in the same folder as the vendor.xml file you deleted. Disconnect from the internet while doing upgrade. I had to do mine this way.

nothing really prevents it.... i see it listed in the dm as an available upgrade but it will not let me go any further than that..... its weird

Many have had issues with DM 5.0 and downgraded to 4.7. You should be able to successfully upgrade using the App Loader found in the RIM folder on your hard drive. Good luck!

Actually if you are using any version of DM 4.7 or above, you will have to disable the internet to complete the upgrade. These versions of DM check on line for the latest official OS.

Apploader is the way to go.
