I have the 8300 and it's all messed up from a little kid trying to rob me for it, so now I am going to buy either the 8310 or 8320. Will I have to start from scratch to put all my applications on the new berry?

I have jivetalk, viigo, cb shortcut, opera mini, beyond411, some games and stuff too, I do back up my curve every other day and I think I read that I can transfer my license on jivetalk to the new berry.

    But what about everything else?

If you have everything backed up, it should reload on your new berry. When I switched from my Pearl to my Curve, everything reloaded nicely from what I had backed up. The only problem I had was the apps that I had purchased needed a securtiy code verification from the purchase receipt. Thankfully I saved all of my emails from CB and was able to retreive the info and get everything going. As for 8310 or 8320, the 8310 has GPS and no WiFi and the 8320 has WiFi and no GPS. You just have to decide which is more important. I personally went with the 8310. I use the GPS everyday for work and like Telenav. Good luck.

I chose the 8310 because of the GPS. I have the BB data plan when I need to go on line and if I need to be on line for extended periods, I am usually on my laptop so I had less need for the WiFi. Either the 8310 or 8320 should be great for you. You will just need to make the decision if WiFi or GPS is more important to your needs.

I was reading this post as my 8300 has died and I was scouring ebay for an 8320 and I was wondering if my back up would port to my new device. I am glad for the info but shocked to find out that I thought the 8320 had both wifi and gps but if this is not the case i better get the 8310 as gps is more important for me.

forget wifi. GPS is more fun. if you have a data plan you don't need wifi.

The 8320 has Wi-Fi built in, and you can get a GPS keyfob to give it GPS capabilities. The 8820 has both, but no camera.

I had an 8310 and found myself not using the GPS a whole lot. Got an 8320 and use Wi-Fi at home all the time. Then I got a GPS keyfob to connect to the 8320 (just flip a tiny switch and you're good to go) and I have the best of all three worlds; GPS, wi-fi, and camera.

It's your decision; the 8320 is more expensive than the 8310.
