    I am on the alltel network. How do you update from the 8330? I called alltel and the told me *00 option 2. Tried that and it didn't work.

    I don't know what do you want, just update os? Downloading the update file and the software would instruct you to do.

    Sorry, don't know anything about OTA +
    OS updates, Verizon isn't known to be the most progressive network...

    Do you not have access to a PC?

    Dialing *228 Option 2 only updates the phone's Preferred Roaming List.

    In order to update the phone OS, you will need access to a Windows based PC on which you can install software.

    The you will need to follow the update instructions in the update threads stickied at the top of this forum section.

    You cannot update the phone OS over the air, and you cannot update it with a Mac computer.

    I've heard of ppl using Bootcamp and Wiondows XP to run Desktop Manager to do updates on their BB's but I have no firsthand experience with this.

    Best thing to do is borrow a relatives/friend's PC to do the update.
