I'm purchasing an unlocked 8320 from eBay to use with Rogers.
I might just get the 5$/5MB Data Plan.

I was wondering if wifi browsing and email would work?
What about a non-BB data plan.

I'm hesitant because I could just get the 8310, save a bit and use the data plan instead. Also because it's eBay...

Actually now that you brought it up here it is. Compared to the US, Canada has the most ridiculous plans...now you wonder why people don't get the extra data plans... Click here

As long as you have and are connected to a valid WiFi ...you should have no problems.

I am using an unlocked 8320 for Att...no data plan and I am able to get email and whatnot...

Rogers also has the 1gig plan for 65 bucks that is flexable, meaning go over the 65 dollar 1gig and you get billed 75 for the 1.5 gig....alot of people believe this is only for network cards or laptops, but it can be used for devices that tether as well, so call them up and tell them you tether with your 8310....read the fine print it says it is available for blackberry and non blackberry as well

Just got a T-Mobile 8320 and using it on Rogers, WIFI worked great with no sim before I unlocked it.
