Help! I am new to all of this stuff, and i just bought a used at&T curve 8310, i have tmobile and when i put my sim card in it reads my contacts and "t mobile" reads at the top of the screen but i cant make calls.

please help i have no idea what i am doing with this stuff.

Are yo sure that the device is actually unlocked?

Try a different SIM card.

Options > Advanced > SIM Card then type MEPD and read what it says on the screen. Post what it says there.

Everything should read Disabled or Inactive if it is unlocked.

i couldnt find a place to type in mepd after i went to "sim card" but the screen says
sim car: disabled
id: shows 19 digit number
phone number: shows my number then (msisdn1)

Just type the letters. You won't see anything on the screen.

What does it read next to "Network"?

ok i typed mped and here is what it says
personalization:
SIM: DISABLED
NETWORK: DISABLED
NETWORK SUBSET: DISABLED
SERVICE PROVIDER: DISABLED
CORPORATE: DISABLED
PHONE NUMBER: then it shows my number

Then you need to try a different SIM card.
