I recently downloaded the new 4.5 OS release for the Sprint Curve 8330. After I install the device software I plug in my phone and it does not prompt for the device to update. Ive tried about everything possible to get the new OS to install. Ive taken off the auto update in the Desktop Software, I have deleted everything off my computer and reinstalled it, and I have tried installing it on another computer but it does not show the OS in the app loader. I have even managed to nuke my berry and delete the OS on the device. When trying to recover it I wasn't even able to detect the new OS in the App Loader but I was able to recover my device with the old 4.3 OS. If anyone has any ideas on what I could do I would appreciate it.

have you removed the vendor.xml file?

    c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader remove the vendor.xml file.

Yes I have tried that but from what I understood since it was a Sprint release I shouldn't have to do that anyways.

Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\shared\loader files and sort by date in the folder. type the folder name for the newest folder please.

Are you using DM v4.7? If you are, I would recommend you use Add/Remove programs to remove it then download v4.5 or v4.6 and install it. DM v4.7 is still too buggy IMO.

I only have one folder in that directory and it is /8330-v4.5.0.131_P3.4.0.25

I have tried it with DM 4.5 and 4.7 neither worked.

type myver on the device and hit space in any text field.

Also go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and use loader.exe instead of DM to update the OS.

Open crackmem.. It should either tell you no operating system could be found .. or on the left side it should list your OS that you have on your PC..

IF it shows that you have an OS.. Press confirm operating system. and also check remove vendor xml..

If there is anything else on there you want to delete.. Go ahead and check it.
