Was installing a new OS version, came back and my computer had restarted for some reason. Checked the BB and it is a white background and black letters. top says blackberry platform 2.7.0.90 has a list consisting of addressbook alarm and so on but none of them work, just says 'Uncaught exception' then some java error. it is connecting via usb and the computer see's it but desktop manager says disconnected. if i go to connection settings it finds it on the USB-PIN: 24A71CDC but still says disconnected.. without it connected i cant use javaloader or maybe i am just not using it right. any ideas?

Go to program files, common and then hit the loader.exe. See if that works. Close desktop manager first.

I will admit that I'm afraid to ever do an update.

if you'd read these forums you'd know that it takes anywhere from 15-30 minutes to install an os... threads like this can be avoided completely if you'd take the time to search the forums.

15 - 30 minutes? My update process usually takes close to an hour.
