i have a question ... i dont have the hot spots at home service but i noticed when connected to wifi i still get the uma to pop up... does the phone still use the wifi to make the calls lets say if im ocnnected to wifi with little or no gsm service?

You can still utilize T-mobile's UMA service, however the call will still count the minutes used from your voice plan.
