Is there a way to turn off BES temporarily and still have data/Internet? I'm going on vacation for a week and I don't want to see work related e-mails but I still want access to gmail and the browser.

Talk to your IT department to temporarily stop the email service for a week.

Yes.. Go to Options - Security Options - Firewall - check enterprise email - menu - save. That should work.

On my Curve (set up om BES), BES is not in the Firewall options. Only SMS, MMS, PIN, and BIS. Perhaps that's an IT policy setting in my environment?

Hmmm.... Maybe but I am not sure. I have always been on the BES and I always had that option. I guess not everybody does.

I have a little red "IT padlock" next to the firewall "enabled" setting, so perhaps IT has restricted the ability to even configure BES in the firewall.
