I have a curve 8320 and the trackball is not functioning properly, it sort of gets stuck going up and down, I have to push hard on it to roll it. Side to side works fine. Has anyone had this issue before, is there a way of fixing it? Or will I have to send it back to T-mobile? Thanks!!!

its easy to remove the trackball for cleaning, take the assembly out and spray some air in there.. there are plenty of tutorials on youtube as well as here, but video ones on youtube I know for sure.

Its for sure a dirty trackball. You can pop it out and with compressed air blow the trackball so the lint and dust comes out or you can buy a new one.
