So everytime I check my memory it says 55312384 total but ranges from 15000000 after a battery pull to 8000000 after a few days of usage. What are peoples default total memory on this phone? I've deleted a bunch of IM programs since I only use JiveTalk. The other apps I have are Slacker, Podtrapper, Vlingo and Operamini (which I rarely use). That's it.
Everyone's memory is different. It will depend on a persons apps. Stay above 12 000 000 and you should be good.

Thanks for the reply. But everyone's default built in memory should be similar. Right? What is yours? Never mind, you don't have an 8320. I'm not sure why you posted.
The free memory is what you are describing. Everyone's free memory is different due to what a person does or does not have on their BB. The 8320 will start the same -in box, but once it is used can vary.

Thanks for the reply again. My original question is what are peoples default memory. I believe the 8320 comes with 64mb built in. Seems like I don't have much apps but might be getting some memory leaks.

You will never have 64 free. You need to take into consideration the OS. You have programs that are running all the time. They will use memory.
How are you closing apps on your BB? Are you just hitting the escape button or the end button? If so, you are leaving things open. To close something, go to BB button and then close.
Do you put your BB in standby? That will help with memory and battery life.

Yes I understand that you won't have 64mb free. I do exit correctly out of my apps and only have the bare minimum running in the background.
Can someone out there throw out a number of their total 'default' memory on their 8320?
Thanks

I don't understand what you want. Rlp said his free memory is 24. However unless your BB is set up like his and you use yours the exact same way, you won't have the same memory.
