Can you let us know where you get your new housing from? I've purchased a few and have had some problems with quality of the "new" housing. Seems like you have to get it from Hong Kong to get decent quality and price.
Yeah Titanium is more appealing and sexy. I don't know why but the silver looks like the older housing color of the older flip cell phones dating decades back.
I have the silver 8330, but who can really tell within my Otterbox, besides the silver around the keyboard....I love the silver and my otterbox...mine has Ninja armor lol...
I have owned a Red and a silver 8310 and my current 8310 is titanium. They ALL look good. It is difficult to choose. ou were right to post and ask opinions.
The old 83xx Curve is about the best looking phone that I have ever encountered. Also the build quality is about a light year ahead of the newer models.

My Verizon 8330 came in silver. It is functional and does the job. But for most members here, functional and does the job is not good enough. We are users and abusers, and like to modify and go beyond the typical.
That said, my titanium case is probably swimming across the Pacific from Hong Kong as I type this. Ordered from cnn.cn. Hopefully I will be pleased.

Im quite sure you will love it. Make sure you search the forum for the do's and dont's when changing your housing. I had lots of help when I did mine so dont be afraid to reach out if you hit a bump. Good luck
