If you have a reg 8330 you can load 5.0.0.230 which has threaded SMS. If you have an 8330m unfortunately you need to wait till that version leaks.

Also make sure you know how to properly upgrade/downgrade your device before performing OS installs.

Check the BB101 Lecture Series for info.

If you have an 8330 and not an 8330m then just go and load it! No point in waiting for an official release if its available now.

Runs great on the Storm. I would load it up and see what you think. Whats the worse that can happen? If you dont like it, you can easily go back.

Download the full .230 for 8330 then install on your device. If you have never done OS upgrades/downgrades make sure you take the time to read on the proper procedures and do some research so you know what you are getting yourself into, as well as what to do if something goes wrong. If you are not the familiar, i would advise on holding off until you have done a good amount of reading and research. I believe I advised earlier on reading the BB101 Lecture Series? The more time you spend on learning everything about BB's and your device the easier it will be.

Dont rush into it.

Dude, there are tons of 8330 .230 threads already! Check em out in the 8330 forum, or do a search. I cant hold your hand the entire time

Actually, mrweeeedbirdman has figured out a way to get the Precision Zen theme from the 8520 working on the 8330 running the 5.0.0.230 OS

For threaded SMS I use Empower's SMSViewer app...cost a couple bucks & works great becuz I have the 8330m & no 5.0 update avail yet. If you want to go past the 160 character limit, I heard Beyond 160 app works great for that issue.

Only the 8330m MMS can be seen in the message; built into the phone's hardware.
