I was so amped about the gps service.....the day i got my BB, i took a trip to Indianapolis. to my dismay, i had to drive down i 465 trying to read the phone! and they drive like heathens down there....

am i missing something???? is there a way to actually hear the directions while you're driving?

You would require apps such as telenav which is $10 monthly and offers voice directions. There are more out there, but from what I have read telenav works quite well with the 8310.

Telenav works very well. The one I have on my unlocked 8310 (on TMO) is Mapquest. Very similar to Telenav (with clear, spoken voice directions) but you can sign-up for a 1 yr license @ $49.95 yearly so less than half the normal $10 month price.

Nav4all is what I use, and it's FREE! Works well for what I need it for.
