I am trying to decide on either getting a wirless card or using my blackeberry 8320 as a modem for my laptop. I will be out in the field working and will access my home computer with "Gotomypc.com" or "logmein.com". I can find the speeds of the wireless cards through the different carriers but I can't find much info on how fast the blackberry modem will run. If it's comparable or noticeabley slower.Also, will I be able to send and receive calls while using the phone as a modem? Thanks!
When I tether my Curve on Alltel's EV network, I always connect at 230 kbps. Pretty quick when in the EV network. It slows way down when I am just in a standard coverage area.
The phone will supsend the modem when a call is received. The modem will connect when the phone call is ended. The user does not have to do anything....
