    Hmm, I don't know if this is an IT policy thing, it might be just a regular password.

    EDIT: It is possible to put a password on a non-BES BB, correct?

    Oh you know the password? Then:

    Options -> Security Options -> General Settings -> Disable Password

    Then that is an IT Policy issue and you will need to remove that.

    Why don't people deal with that before selling the phone to someone?

    Oh yeah, the red lock is an IT policy. Go check out the post amazing linked in #4. And yeah, it's pretty crappy of someone to sell a phone that has an IT policy on it.

    pressing the easy button is not an option, I just looked how to remove it an it took a guru 6 hrs so it should take me 2 days

    No fear on this. It took the cjcarbone that long because he had to work
    the whole thing out. He saved the rest of us in that thread 4-5 hours
    of going through the same. You'll be ok. I know firsthand
