I am switching from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Pearl to the Curve today, FINALLY! After waiting and waiting and waiting my Curve finally came in the mail. I'm going to do the backup on the Desktop Manager and restore everything on my Curve so hopefully that will take care of a lot of my settings.

But my questions are will my applications transfer? Here are the applications I have now:

- Ascendo Money
- BlackBerry Alerts
- Empower Email HTML Viewer
- Empower Dictionary
- JiveTalk
- Opera Mini
- SoftReset
- AutoLock

If I have to rebuy them that's not too much of a problem. Questions I have, can you get the colored trackball on the Curve? Are there any iPhone style threaded SMS messaging 3rd party applications out for the Curve?

Use the device switcher feature on the desktop manager. Saved my life when I switched from the Treo to the Pearl

Can't change the color of your trackball unless you Sharpie it up. Not sure what iPhone SMSs look like, can't help ya there...
