i just got my first blackberry today, the 8330 curve. i love it already, it is so much fun and just so addicting! i can't put it down. my question is, when i want to end an application is there a proper way to do this? i have noticed i can hit the "end" key and that will exit the application, but does it leave that program running somewhere like windows mobile phones? if so, how can i go and see which programs are running so i can properly end them? thank you for your help and i can promise this will be the first of many questions!

You can hit the BlackBerry key and then scroll down to close and that will shut an app down.

You can also hold alt then esc (next to end call) and scroll through the open apps and then close them.
