Hello all. I'm still fairly new to the site and to CB, but I love them both. However, I'm having an aggravating problem. For no particular reason, my BB will freeze up. Sometimes while listening to music and other times while surfing the web. Sometimes when I just hit the friggin button to go to the web. The hourglass will show up on screen and after about 5 minutes of it I end up doing a battery pull just to keep from shooting it. And I am armed, folks. I am armed.

What could be causing that? All my music is on my sd card and I have maybe three pictures and no videos. I have yahoo mobile, facebook and of course CB as links on the menu. Oh, and Jivetalk. What could be taking up so much? And to add insult to injury, my phone reset itself just a couple of minutes ago and then froze after I started it up again. Please help!

You are not closing your program when you leave them.

    Hit menu close.

To see what's open, hold down the ALT-back button.

And there is a know Memory Leak problem on the device:

How do I fix that? This thing is slower than molasses sometimes! Right now it can't even keep up with my typing! I deleted extra stuff (mainly links like yahoo go, which I never use). How can I tell what's using up all my memory? Please?!?!?!

You can't tell specific which program is using active memory.

Check your memory now, options, status

Take out your battery and put it back in and then check your memory.

What was the old and new memory numbers? That is a key indicidator if you have a memory leak problem.

I checked my memory before shutting down and it was at 9325138. After following your instructions it was only at 9348862. So, now what?

Is your music stored on your device or a memory card? It looks like you are using your device for storage of media and you should stray away from that.

See the problem is you shouldn't have 9 anything. You should be more at 15 or 12.

So what's the solution? There's no songs on the device memory. I pulled out the memory card but I'm still in the 9's. Although it is a lot smoother.

    Hi,
Don't mean to jump right in here or anything. But I would like some clarification on this issue as well. (this is my first post)

Is it safe to assume than that if I keep my memory in the 12 to 15 gig range I shouldn't have any problem with my BB deleting my messages before I do?

I think this is kinda sad really - - there are so many BB apps out there that I want to try but if apps can only be loaded in the device's memory and not on the SD card that really restricts what I can do and load on it. Especially if I want to avoid seing my messages vanish. Anyway to have the BB automatically copy messages to the SD card for safe keeping?

oh not that much - I've only had my BB for two days...lol
I use it for work and I get a number of important texts everyday. I'd really like to be incontrol of when these are deleted. I'm used to being able to keep them for as long as I want.
