I have had this problem with more than one Curve, I have had it replaced twice and the problem keeps coming back, people at Verizon have never even heard of the problem before.
The Issue :
When I receive a phone call I press the green answer key, the phone goes to speakerphone for 1 to 2 seconds and then goes back to the earpeice. So if there is a loud background noise like a baby crying or loud music it is broadcasted on speakerphone for a second or two.
I was able to replicate the problem for the VZW rep and they replace the phone right away.
I set up the new phone and it is doing the same thing.
2 phone smae problem... any one else having this issue and are they any fixes
Wow....can't say I heard of that one! Must be annoying at the start of each call. Gotta be a very rare coincidence to happen twice. I wish I had an answer for you.......good luck.
You just need to update to the latest OS and it should be resolved. On your device hit options>about and it will tell you what OS you currently run. Check the stickies on this forum at the top to upgrade accordingly.
mradicchi... As Tremortality said you need to upgrade your OS. The newer OS version 4.5 took care of the speaker blast problem plus it also gave a few more goodies.
Now that you say it, that does happen to me on my calls also. I want to download the upgrade, but I have a question, if I do it will it void Verizon's warranty?
That's right bign it will void the warranty. But like xliderider said make sure you have the other one saved on ypur computer in case you ever need to downgrade.
I believe Desktop Manager 4.7 will automatically look for the latest software that is approved for your phone depending on the carrier. So if you do have Verizon it will locate the 4.5.0.77 software if you check for updates even if you are running the 4.5.0.131
