I currently use a Sprint Curve 8330, OS Ver. 4.3.0.127 Platform 3.1.0.73.
File free used to be 33mb and is now down to 25mb. All of the sudden my curve is eating memory like no tomorrow. The only new third party app I installed was the Pinstack launcher which I have since deleted. My BB is useless right now as I continually get the hour glass and can't run any apps. Calls list and texts are gone as soon as they come in.
I am not new to the memory issues and have managed memory well. What is really strange is a battery pull gets me nothing anymore. I have less file free after a battery pull every time. I'm beginning to think this is a hardware issue.
You could wipe the Curve, then install 4.5.0.89 or 4.5.0.97 as you are still running 4.3
If your happy with 4.3 I'd stick with it. I think the memory leaks in are not much improved in .89 or .97. 4.3 is much more stable just no docs to go (useless) and html email (sweet).
You can also clean out your e-mail box and call logs. Do you have pics in device memory, or have you moved them to media card? Have you deleted samples and unnecessary applications? All of these can make for a rough day. One of the biggies is doing the cache flush as noted above.

For what its worth, I gained about 10 mb of memory upgrading to.97 and I've got a ton of apps. The only thing that slows mine down is when I've got multiple apps open at the same time, even when I still have 30mb free. For me its more of a processor issue than a memory issue.
Thanks for all the responses. I deleted all the sample pics and video long ago. I am using a 1gig media card and have memory for pics set to 0. I was using the facebook app but deleted it several weeks ago. I have no saved emails or call logs. I never have a call log as the BB erases it along with sms messages as soon as they come in. Text msgs are like a blip on my screen.
Not sure on upgrading OS at this point due to Sprint. From everything I read, Sprint Radio and TV doesn't work on 4.5
I forgot to mention, I really don't have to delete browser cash as it cleans that out as well by itself. Memory cleaner is enabled and set to clean every 30 minutes when idle. I also run it manually.

Recently, my Blackberry has been the reason I'm losing my ca$h as well.

I noticed you are with Sprint, are you having any of the 4.5 issues (Speaker issue on call, Sprint TV & Sprint Radio)?
If not, I think I will try an upgrade before I take this phone back to Sprint....
As much as it sucks, you could always take it back and have it replaced, assuming sprint does that.
Yes, Sprint does that. They have always handled any equipment issues I had under my insurance quickly, so I don't mind the few extra bux a month for that.

Well this is the first time I really read about this issue, but what really cleared my memory for me is that I deleted all google talk, yahoo messenger, ICQ, and basically just stuck with JiveTalk since that has all of it in one program anyway. Ever since, I haven't experienced problems where the hour glass kept running, or when I had to do a battery pull . . . I hope it helps.
Wow, so far so good. I wiped my 8330 and installed 4.5.097 from 4.3. I gained almost 13mb with the clean install. It is showing 38mb file free now and it is running great. All previous apps seem to be working on the new os. Two things I noticed, Documents to go isn't showing up and status only shows file free now.
Another rookie 4.5 question...I was using Empower email viewer pro with 4.3 for HTML email....Do I need to re-install it on 4.5? I was under the impression 4.5 has html support for email..
